"As with most Waitrose branches, the product quality here is excellent. The fresh produce is superior to other supermarkets, and the staff at the fishmonger and meat counters are always smiling, helpful, and ready to offer advice. However, there is a growing issue with the checkout experience. This store has recently reduced its manned checkouts to just two, pushing most customers toward self-service. For those of us shopping with elderly parents or doing a full week’s worth of groceries, this is quite a challenge. The self-service machines aren't always intuitive for seniors, and the long queues for the few remaining cashiers make the experience feel less like the premium service Waitrose is known for. In an upscale store, "live" service should be part of the product. If you're doing a large shop, be prepared for a bit of a wait if you prefer a staffed till. Also, a note to management: It would be wonderful to see you engage with your positive reviews as well! A little acknowledgement for your loyal customers goes a long way."
